We would like to welcome Scott Koepka to
Dino's Guitar and Amplifier Service. Scott is with us as part of an apprenticeship program through Hamburg high school just
up the street from us. The program has students going out in the community serving as apprentices with local businesses in
the field of there choice to learn job skills and get a feel for life in the working world. The students get a course credit
upon completion of the program.
Scott, a well mannerd and soft spoken young man
is a 17 year old junior at Hamburg high. He is a multi-talented musician. He primarily plays bass, but also plays guitar,
drums, harmonica, and mandolin. Scott says... "I also play keys and sitar. Although not talented on them, I can function!"
He plays in the bands Word of Mouth and Leather Garden with his twin brother Grant, who
plays guitar. He has done shows at the Hamburg Music Festival, the Coyote' Cafe, and even opening for Alison Pipitone
at the legendary Tralf Music Hall in Buffalo, NY.
Scotts influence are many, and
as diverse as: Julian Casablancas, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Bob Marley, England Dan and
John Ford Coley, Gordon Lightfoot and others.
In the future, Scott plans to pursue
a career in music and lutherie. From the short time we have known Scott, we are quite sure he will be successfull in any endevour
he embarks upon.
